Radial Arm Hardness Testers

Radial Arm Type Hardness Testers

The Foundrax model BHD, BHD Type-B and BHD Type-D radial arm Brinell hardness testers offer the user a range of test head options.

These range from a simple machine that uses the 134 portable Brinell test head (capable of indentation only, and operating in a single Brinell hardness scale), to a fully automatic machine incorporating the Type-D fully automatic test head.

The Type-D comes with an integral BRINtronic microscope offering automatic optical measurement in scales from HBW 2.5/187.5 to HBW 10/3000.

The Foundrax Model BHD series are heavy-duty, radial-arm Brinell hardness testers specifically designed to handle test forces and not subject to the inherent weakness of machines which use converted radial arm drills or similar.

Description

See the BHD range in action here!

The machines consist of a Brinell test head for applying test forces up to 29 420N (3000kgf) mounted on a heavy-duty frame. The radial arm holds the test head and allows it to be accurately positioned for one or more tests without moving the workpiece.

The Foundrax model BHD, BHD Type-B and BHD Type-D radial arm Brinell hardness testers also offer the user a range of test head options. They are specifically designed to handle the forces generated in Brinell hardness testing and are not subject to the inherent weakness of machines based on converted radial arm drills.

The arm can be moved out of the test area to allow the workpiece to be lowered onto the table by crane. The BHD Type-D may be networked to allow automatic downloading of batch parameters etc as well as automatic uploading and saving of test results and batch statistics.

The BHD, BHD Type-B and Type-D machines have a maximum test height of 900mm and a maximum reach of 600mm. Other sizes can be specially made.
