Bench-top Machine – Robus
Our bench-top Brinell hardness tester; designed for tight spaces
The 2022 Robus bench-top Brinell hardness tester combines sleek design with field-proven mechanics in a machine of industry-leading accuracy and reliability.
70 years of industrial pedigree stand behind this formidable hardness tester; as with every Foundrax machine it is built to give year after year of trouble-free service. Component reliability has been confirmed through bench trials of over 150,000 cycles. There is a x4 safety factor and virtually no hysteresis even under the full 3000kg load. This is a machine intended for the shop floor; not just the lab.
The Robus is capable of operating in all scales from HBW 2.5/62.5 to HBW 10/3000 but is supplied calibrated and certified by our UKAS-accredited laboratory in any two scales as standard (all scales are available if required). The load cells are custom made for Brinell hardness testing (to our specification – they are not simple ‘off-the-shelf’ units run over capacity). Force application is monitored 125 times per second and controlled using our proprietary algorithms (developed for the immensely successful Type B and Type D test heads which are used across the Globe in the most demanding industrial conditions) to give potentially National Standard Calibration machine levels of accuracy and repeatability on a daily basis.
The control system is simple, intuitive and icon-based and able to operate in any language the user requires. The interface is based on the BRINtronic system, taking full advantage of many years of Foundrax expertise in making systems that are simple and reliable for the operator. A ruggedised display (meeting IP65) is available on request.
The Robus is entirely designed and built by Foundrax in the UK.
